Interesting Facts

1. When the cassette version of ‘Rubber Soul’ was created, the track list was completely changed in order, this tends to happen when creating cassettes to create equal lengths on either sides however there its usually only a change to a couple of songs. The track list was completely re - ordered to create an entirely new listening experience than the vinyl record. 

2. Besides its orchestral strings and wind sections, Pet Sounds is famous for its unusual and almost comedic use of bizarre instruments, including bicycle horns, vibraphones, timpani, finger cymbals, Coke cans, accordions, modified 12-string mandolins, and water jugs. Further emphasising the albums avant-garde ideology and contribution to the beginning of the art rock genre. 

3. The Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts club band song - "Good Morning Good Morning" was inspired by a TV commercial for Corn Flakes, and at the end, there is a series of animal noises. At Lennon's request, the animals appear in a specific sequence: with each one large enough to devour the last.

4. Andy Warhol produced the album ‘The Velvet Underground With Nico’ and while he didn’t contribute to the sound of the album particularly, he came up with experimental artistic ideas for the actual recored production, such as a sticker on the cover revealing a pink peeled banana under the iconic yellow banana image, an intentional crack in the record during the song ‘I’ll Be Your Mirror’ effectively repeating the titular lyric until the listener was forced too lift the arm of the record player and original prints of his appearing over the faces of the band members on the back cover. 

5. There was a large conspiracy that the tracks on ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ were created to sync perfectly in time with ‘The Wizard of Oz’ as many stoners discovered. There were quite a few weird coincidences such as the song ‘Brain Dead’ syncing with the appearance of the Scarecrow. Pink Floyd have rejected this whole idea.
