OUGD406 - Push Pin Studios

OUGD406 - Push Pin Studios
Push Pin Studios is a graphic design studio in New York which was directed by designers Milton Glaser and Seymour Chwast for 20 years throughout the end of the 20th century. The studio is known for being one of the pioneering forces of postmodernism and combined historic styles with fresh playful approaches to create eclectic posters, magazines, vinyl sleeves and books. With the studios most notable years of prominence being at the same time as Art Rock, as well as the visual links between postmodernist design and rock music of the time for example Glaser’s iconic 1966 Bob Dylan poster, the work of Push Pin Studios would serve as excellent visual inspiration regarding the process of accurately conveying the style of the Art Rock micro-genre visually.
