Phoebe’s only requirement she asked for the logo was that it be pink and green so these few quick ideas utilise typefaces which would suit her work by being a bit punky/grungy. These initial ideas were made for the purpose of showing them to her at our first meeting to get some feedback from her and gauge what sort of style she wanted. An important idea was too make the logo stylised but still make it look fairly professional, this was were ‘Titling Gothic’ the wide sans serif font used here comes in to play; it’s a little more clean, contemporary and minimal but still in combination with perhaps a slightly more stylised font, the overall style could still be conveyed.
Another one of the ideas uses titling gothic but with a drop shadow and each letterform has been warped to expand on the top; this is a little bit more fun and goofy almost like its being used somewhat ironically and would be seen somewhere like King Kong magazine. The other two logo ideas mostly rely on the actual typeface, one being a blackletter font called Cabazon and the other being a stylised sharp edged font called Shogun.
