Studio Brief 3 – Week 1 Crit

Out of the 5 ideas I brought to the crit, everyone suggested I continue with my grid based idea which looks at phototropism. This is the idea I was most confident about and felt was the strongest so it was useful to have that confirmed. Some suggested ideas were to make more of a system for creating letterforms in this grid, because although there are some set rules; It must start from the centre and it must finish at the point representing the light source, other than that I am basically just creating the letterforms. A very good idea was to print of 26 empty grids on sheets of paper and hand them out to people so that they can try and fill them in. I think this would be really interesting to carry out because once I have all the results back, I can not only combine all the answers onto one grid and see the results, but also examine all the different answers and see which one was most common or the most interesting.
