OUGD406 - Evaluation
Overall the work produced in this projection has been to a higher standard then all previous projects. This can be seen in elements such as the production where the J-cards and cereal box have been screen printed producing an effective outcome, and also the research were a multitude of information and facts about the Art Rock genre have been researched and visually applied, along with contextual research on post modernist and contemporary designers.
The most successful parts of the project would firstly be design development process where not only have a range of alternate designs and variations been made for elements like the J-card, but practical considerations were made in anticipation of screen printing, taking into account things such as legibility with type and the alignment of the front and back. Another very successful part of the project was the design and production of the cereal box. The end result is screen printed very accurately with minimal misalignment.
If some of the weaker parts of the project had to be identified, or areas for improvement considered, first of all the flag would have been much more effective and linked with the other parts of the project if it had been screen printed. Also it would have increased the overall quality of the cassette to consider packaging more; details such as a label on the actual tape or a more thought out or sophisticated container tom put the cassette in.
